  • They all suck balls and have had a negative influence on my life.
  • Never met them
  • None really... When I was younger maybe. But nothing like you might see on a sitcom or in most normal peoples lives.
  • it was nice that they always remembered my birthday, and gave me pocket money when they visited, so i always try to do the same for my nieces and nephews :D
  • I've had a lot of uncles and aunts. Big families on both sides. Visited them a lot. Only one had any affect on me. My Preacher uncle. My mother wanted me to be a preacher, I thought about it, then my preacher uncle came to mind. He was judgmental and always right and God was exactly like he said to the point that I didn't want to be like that. I became a social worker instead.
  • Just about none. My father was an only child. My mother had only one sibling, her brother. The brothers wife (my aunt by marriage) died two years before I was born. My uncle moved away when I was eight. I only saw him twice after that. He passed away about 15 years ago.
  • VERY LITTLE. I had one aunt who cared for me until I was 3 because my mother was quite ill. but since then, i have had very, very little contact with them. my family lives as far away from their siblings as possible.......one in NY, one in CA, one in FL, one in OH, etc. etc. it's like they were all trying to get the heck away from each other as soon as they could possibly split up. both parents came from horrible homes though, so it's no wonder all of them wanted to be far away from anything that reminded them of their pasts. that one aunt, though, we still send birthday & christmas cards and call maybe 3 or 4 times a year.
  • One of my Aunts was like a second Mother to me . I came to school in England and my Aunt lived here ( married to an Englishman) so I spent a lot of holidays with her . When I got older we used to go on holidays with her and my Uncle. She died in March this year.
  • They always treated me kindly and I still think about them around the holidays.
  • My aunts were generally nice to me and I've had many aunts. My uncle is the biggest influence in my life. He was the only person who cared about me whenever I feel down or when I needed something. He is the only person who understands me when my parents couldn't. I've had many uncles too but there is at least one who cares about me.
  • The uncle on my mother's side -- negative, because he was quite scary, and the few times I saw him, he was mostly either drunk or asking my grandmother for money, for some more alcohol. The aunt and uncle on my father's side -- a good bit, because when I was little, they took me, my grandmother, and one of my cousins to the Black Sea and it was a lot of fun -- one of the happiest times of my life.
  • Very little in the way of positive. I come from a very dyfunctional family. Every one of them think they know the answers to all of life's questions. Moreover, they think everyone else is wrong. I stay away from them as much as possible.
  • Very much so. My favorite aunt keeps me sane and we get along more like mother & daughter. I love her so. :)
  • a big effect.
