It is actually in the gas tank. If you know what you are doing, and don't mind dropping the tank, it isn't too hard. It can be a messy job though, and if you aren't sure of what you are doing, you should probably take it to a mechanic. I have been told that you can remove it without dropping the tank, but I have never even tried. Hope that helps.

i had to drop my gas tank complety out it took me 8 hrs with help

In the fuel tank. Removing the tank can be time- consuming and messy. Chevy engineers need to have their heads pulled out for some of the stuff they're coming up with.
