  • There's no accounting for the ignorance, stupidity, and gullibility of the American people.
  • They hope to keep others from voting for him. He will not get my vote but not because I fell for the ignorant gossip.
  • I don't know, not being American. If it has anything to do with his name being so similar to Osama, that's ridiculous.
  • There's lots of gullible people who believe he is Chrisitan. The man is an enigma, shrouded in mystery. There will be an awakening of the masses in November.
  • I don't know, some cling to prejudice even when presented with extensive evidence. We find the same thing happening at times in the LGBT questions area. :o)
  • They can't outrightly say they don't want him to become president because of his color so they have to think up every other stupid excuse.
  • There are people who will believe anything negative about him.
  • There are people in this world who are not capable of independent thought..thus, they swallow whatever their designated "guru" tells them to think. They don't read, they don't watch news shows, they don't investigate, they aren't curious..they accept what others tell them is "right and true" and move on to whatever it is in life that absorbs their time. It's too hard to think for yourself so either they are incapable of it or too lazy. Sad, but true..and these are people that voted for "the decider"...not once, but twice! Scary, isn't it? :(
  • I have receieved many of those "chain emails" about him. You know I remember back in 2005 in memory of the train victims in Madrid, Spain it was Obama that lead the pledge of allegiance. I was in the start voting for Hillary but since she dropped out, Im supporting Obama now.
  • I don't care if he is a muslim or not. A person's faith has no bearing as to who I vote for. I support McCain because I am Republican.
  • The question for both candidates rather than their religious leanings is are they Citizens of the US. McCain was born in the Philippines which at the time of his birth was a US protectorate, Obamas' citizenship has yet to be determined...
  • I once was talking to a woman in an upscale McDonald’s (yes, there really is such a thing—at least, as far as McDonald’s go) and while we were watching Obama on the big screen and discussing the upcoming election, she started complaining that he should even be able to run; that he was born in Hawai‘i, which wasn’t even part of the United States, at that time. At the time, I wasn’t sure of his age (Hawai‘i has only been a state for 49 years) nor of Hawai‘i’s status before 1959 (turns out it had been a U.S. territory since 1900). If I hadn’t actually investigated her charges, I might still believe her.   Contrast the “not born in the USA” rumor—which is completely groundless—to the “he’s a Muslim” rumor—which, as others have pointed out, actually has a lot of circumstantial evidence, not the least of which is his own misstatement about “my Muslim faith”—and it’s not surprising that people would still believe it.
  • um, maybe because he was one. his family is muslim and he was considered one as well
  • Who cares if he is, his ideas suck. There are many great black people who are very qualified to be presidents. But this particular leftist wants to massively increase government and is proposing and additional 1 trillion on top of the current budget. Taxing the rich give to the poor (lazy). Universal healthcare will be a disaster just look at social security. Overall a Marxist
  • As you can see, we have lots and lots of gullible Fox-watchers here. :)
  • Why would it be such a big deal, there are estimated to be 600,000 Muslims in New York City alone.
  • They are swayed by propaganda
  • because the republicans mccain and palin are blasting it all over the media...if he was muslim then why the hell would he have a pastor and go to a christian church? saying that hes a terrorist and all that. omg people in this country need to get a life...
  • That's like asking "Why many (stupid, ignorant, racist, dumb ass...etc.) Americans believe Barack Obama is Muslim... ...and expecting an INTELLIGENT answer! -
  • Probably because he was Raised Muslim as a child in Kenya, and someone got their hands on his registration paperwork in school where he listed his religion as "Islam". His father was muslim, all of his relatives in kenya are muslim. One of his mentors was muslim, another was actually communist. (These are facts, not merely political name-calling "propaganda"...) Also, his name sounds very muslim. Barack Hussein Obama.(not a fact, just an observation) I wouldn't blame anyone for believing he is a muslim. I personally don't think he is, nor do I think it matters. We're all doomed regardless of what religion he is.
  • To make mccain president
  • Seems like there is always loads of lies, mud slinging, and dirty ways in an election. At 15, I know how to research and confirm myself he isnt a Muslim. Another rumor I keep hearing is he plans to turn the white people into slaves, and that he plans on outlawing Christianity. There is no end to the rumors and lies in this election. And McCain himself has used these lies and calls himself a Christian!
  • Because he never eats pork!
  • they shouldnt vote for him in the first place. and hes not black hes not white what is he?
  • You say that like being a Muslim is a bad thing. What does it matter?
  • These are usually the same gullible people that let an invisible sky dweller put those thoughts into their heads
  • Of course...that is propoganda. You will notice, however, that it has NOT been mentioned recently by the McCain folk in speeches...so that tells me they KNOW there is nothing in it.
  • I don't care WHAT he is, he would never get my vote. I would vote for a black man, or a muslim, but I will never vote for a naked socialist.
  • Really just because his middle name is the same as a dictator we went to war against and his last name is just one letter different from the worlds most wanted terrorist why do people jump to conclusions
  • Maybe because he said he's Muslim?
