  • The NFL does not officially recognize the 'tackle' as an official statistic, and therefore does not track it. So, I guess the answer is, no one.
  • Appearently someone tracks it otherwise how could they list tackles on things such as football cards and reports on players that are retiring and such.
  • Think its Zach Thomas, he has more than anyone in the HOF
  • Zach Thomas has 982 career tackles. I don't know who the all-time leader is, but Randy Graishar of the Broncos (1974-83) had 2,045 tackles, an average of 204 per year. By comparison, last year's tackles leader was Patrick Willis with 174 tackles, according to NFL.com. Gradishar isn't in the HOF because he played in Denver.
  • Darren Woodson of the dallas cowboys(92-04) had over 1,300 tackles in his career and leads the cowboys in career tackle but not sure that is the record. that is rediculous the NFL wouldnt count tackles as a statistic.
  • As of today, Dec 21, Junior Seau has 1,998 tackles. I think he's the active leader.
  • Mr Derrick Brooks of the Tampa Bay Bucs...2,198 tackles..one of the best of all time...11 pro bowls..that is 2nd in history among linebackers...and has 208 consecutive starts...That is 2nd all time next to Brett Favre...
