  • Most recepticals today do not have a anything to do with the holes, but someday you may find one that has brass springs that tend to lock in those holes. It will be hard to pull out. I found a few in my lifetime.
  • Male electrical plug locking device. Some of the recepticals have a spring load device which helps hold the male end in tightly. The old type were smooth and would fall out with little effort. the locking device was created because of fires and electrical shock due to plugs partly coming out. Not to worry the spring load is not so tight to make it a problem to remove the plug just makes it not as easy to pull out.
