  • Love is an excuse for sex. The reverse also applies.
  • love is what you feel inside for someone. Essentially it's a selfish feeling as all feelings are by definition. It's a funny old game. If you feel love for someone, show it all you can and tell them. Doesn't mean they'll love you back though. Guess I don't really know - sorry.
  • A friend once told me... "The only true love is that between Man/Woman and God,...everything else is a momentary lapse of a Man's/Woman's reason."

  • It is the realization that no one being is independant of another. It's the butterfly effect (no, I don't mean that funny feeling you get in your stomach when on a date). It's realizing that what you do to others, good or bad, effects everything and everyone, including yourself. Take from others, whether directly or indirectly, you lose 10 fold. Give, however, and what you ultimately receive from life is love. It's not a feeling, it is an understanding of the most fundemental aspect of life. All things are inter-dependant. To do something contrary to love, is to be nothing short of self destructive
  • 1st Corinthians 1:1-7 (NASB) describes love this way: "1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

We are young, heartache to heartache we stand No promises, no demands Love is a battlefield We are strong, no one can tell us were wrong Searchin our hearts for so long, both of us knowing Love is a battlefield Youre beggin me to go, youre makin me stay Why do you hurt me so bad? It would help me to know Do I stand in your way, or am I the best thing youve had? And before this gets old, will it still feel the same? • Quite simply I define love as an emotion in which you experience where you only want good things for the person you love. Now the intensity of that love and the reasons for that love change. Intensity is how much you would do or sacrifice to acquire good for that person. Reasons> Affection, romantic love, friendship, family etc.

  • That without which in some form or another existence becomes needless waiting. here i also mean for anyhitng that drives passion, could be art, science, discovery, philosophy... Alchemy really: that which transforms the mundane into the transcendental and drives beyond perceived limitations. That which pushes the created into becoming also creators; that which links physical & spiritual; that which builds bridges; communication; that which destroys in order to rebuild; that which causes laughter, the cruelest & the kindest. The opposite of indifference, instinct calculating, freedom binding, and the place where one stands to see both sides at once. Always more but not nessessary to be forever to be real; it is what breaks the perceived laws of time and space.. it is absolute power and absolute helplessness; simultaneity unleashed through unbreakable chains... Is it really better to know such as this and then possessed no longer? Sacred madness.... terrifyingly enticing

  • u cant really define love, love is wen u u no that shes the one wen u no that u would do anything 4 him or her
  • 1.) An inexplainable yet incredibly strong feeling for someone...Most people use the word "love" to get into someone else's pants. Love is overused in today's world, people say they love someone because of the way they look or their body. That isn't love. Love is when you can't do anything without thinking about that person, you always want to be with them. It's not that you want to have sex with them, you just want to spend time with them and you just want to hold them and never let go. Love can be fooling, you can think you're in love and it can lead to the most horrible feeling in the world. Also you can wait so long for someone, loving them, and waiting for them to love you back, but they don't return it for a long time and you spend years thinking and thinking and it tears you up inside but when that person realizes that they love you back it's miraculous. Love is a very strong word, don't overuse it.

  • Love is an emotion and experience related to a sense of strong, or intense affection. A feeling of intense and tender attraction shared in passionate or in an intimate attraction. • 1st corinthians 13:4-8, love is patient, love is kind.it does not envy,it does not boast,it is not proud.it is not rude,it is not self seeking,it is not easly angerd,it keeps no record of wrongs.love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.it always protects, always trusts always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS!!!
  • Love is all the good feelings you get when you are with someone and you know you can get that warm feeling inside. That is one, but love is also knowing how to stand by yourself and letting your partner stand by themselves. All though I myself am not a gold digger, having a little bit of money could also be considered love. Realisticly, when people live with no money under strained conditions (bills bills bills and no extra money), a lot of love could be lost, because when two people are together under such circumstances, and they feel stressed all the time, they start to unconciously remember the other person as someone who was there when there was so many bad feelings going on, and it's hard to love someone else when you feel like you need to struggle to survive. So love is a lot of things. Love is also when you are strict on a partner or a child on rules that you need met, like telling your child that it is not okay to scream at you. You need your respect, and no one is going to give it to you if you don't demand it. No one is going to know what you like if you don't tell them what you like. That is why it is hard to love and be loved by a quiet person, because they are unhappy and nobody know's why, untill you break up then the quiet person tells it all. So love is respect, caring, honesty, being well off (or at least so you know you aren't going to be in a bad situation and you are both going to try to get better so there is hope), intamacy, good memories, communication and a bunch of other things. You don't always have to be in love to be in love. Some one told me, you don't find a soul mate, you become a sould mate.
  • love is Unpredictable but in the end it always turns out rite
  • 1.) love is something that should allow both parties to be equally thoughtful of one another, not taking each other for granted, doing things for one another - not because you have to - but because you want to. 2.)Love is not being too upset when he leaves the seat up on the toilet or him being understanding when she insists she needs that 4th pair of black pumps. It is being able to see one another's faults and loving them anyway. It is not ever wanting them to hurt and striving to be the best person you can be, and truly being sorry if by accident you fall short of that. It is "completing" one another - but not in an unhealthy sense. It is something that never dies. 3.)Love is knowing that there is only person who holds the "key" to your heart. Knowing that you will be spending the rest of your life with them just makes you feel really good inside. Love is not being able to stop thinking about this person, not being able to stay separated for too long. 4.)Love is not knowing what to say, but you know that you don't have to say anything at all. Love is not only told through one word to someone that you really love. Actions represent how we feel, so if you truly love someone let them know today, waiting for tomorrow may be too late. 5.) In love is the "gut feel" for someone where you have butterflies, etc. You are just happy to be in the same room with them. Loving someone is caring about thir well-being. Wanting to help. Being caring. But you can do it from 1000 miles as easily as right there. 6.)I think it's possible to have long lasting love and also be "in love." Maybe not all the time head over heels being in love, but if two people consciously light each other's sparks, long lasting love and lust can remain exciting and new. It has to be worked on, though, from both sides. I have to admit I still go "ooh and ahh" over my husband's eyes, or his smile, or that tight butt of his even after nine years and many of those having been really tough and being nearly divorced. 7.)Love is saying I'm sorry. Love is a precious thing - both in giving and receiving. Love is unconditional. Love is being there and giving space accordingly. Love is forgiving. Love is trust. Love is a gift from God. Love is everlasting. 8.) Love is what you put into the marriage, not what you get back from it or think you deserve. Love grows deeper over the years and this person is supposed to be your best friend you can confide in and share with. The one that fights occasionally with you for principles and then tells you they are sorry for their part in the arguing. Love forgives one another, not cheats on one another. 9.) love means caring enough about someone that you want to put their interests and welfare ahead of your own. 10.)Maybe love is really about growth and we need to crash into a few walls until we find the door to walk through. http://lovegreetingcards.blogspot.com/search/label/What%20Does%20Love%20Mean%3AGrown%20Up%20Version
  • I really like Just_wondering's answer, pure beauty. Love really can't be described. But I guess if I were to describe it. It would be like you are on top of the world. Some one's always going to be there, understand you, know who you really are, what you are all about, what your intrestes are, what your values are, someone to share life expierces with, be there to talk to, be there to cry, be there through the great times in your life. And through the bad. I guess you can't really describe it until you felt it.

  • I think that love is a romantic affair that you have with somebody. It's a way of having crushes on them, kissing, flirting, etc. it is a way of growing up as well. If you know who that person is and is able to give your guts to them, do it. Just remembered that love can't be stopped. It can also be fun if you are crushing somebody in specific.
  • Many answers here contain the truth of love and some are close. Love is not so much a thing as a level of understanding that is achieved from many experiences. Love in it's purest form transcends the limitations of the human experience and goes beyond the fragile ego we possess. However love in the limited sense is very confining as it usually extends from our physical needs. Sex, acceptnce, the will to pleae and be pleased, our search for gain and of course the need to be loved, as previously stated. Love is not a thing that can be anchored down into a saying or form, it's a state of spiritual and temporal construct that is necessary to give and receive. Our culture associates sex, gain materialistically, overt recognition and other aspects as love. You must seek the answers in places that you will go into through your lifes journey. Don't be closed to the injury love can do, but learn from it and never quit loving. You're on a path to a destination and along the way you will discover many things about yourself and others. Love is and you are. Embrace it. Seek it. Understand it. No one can offer you what it is to you, you alone will know it and your knowing will be out of your search, your experience and your choices.
