But, it causes men to contemplate how to take it from "their brother". I want what my brother has!Cain wanted what Abel had. Abel had flocks and herds and his sacrifices were accepted by God. If Jesus said all the law and prophets hangs on loving God and each other, I would determine that lack of such love is the root of all evil.

Paul was addressing Timothy and those who minister to others. As is evident in many preachers and televangelists today, money becomes their god, and it rots them from the inside out. 1 Timothy 6:8-10 "If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
