Prefer Hayao Miyazaki's animated films (and Ghibli Studio productions). The charactors are more nuanced and complex where good and evil are not so clearly defined. Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service to name a few.
