• The CEO is the higher level of the two. Typically, the CEO would hold final responsibility for strategic decisions such as acquisitions, major investments, and significant shifts in company focus. Typically, the COO would be responsible for profitability within the current strategy. Of course, both officers would routinely work with the other on all aspects of the business.
