  • Friendship and loyalty are not necessarily one in the same depending to the degree which practiced. For example I can be friendly as far as not being hostile -- may even involve certain shared activities. However loyalty might well, mean total devotion to / undying and 100% trust in. Like many things it is often a matter of degrees. Loyalty and devotion taken to an extreme may well be defined as fanaticism. English is difficult -- often because hearing can be subjective.
