Why did Darth Vader kill Darth Sidious?

I don't know that much about Star Wars...but my assumption would be Sidious' failure to provide Vadar with the power to pervent someone from dying?--the one reason why Vadar became a Sith in the first place. He probably just lost faith in Sidious and figured out his promises were actually lies.

Because there was still good in him (Vader) and when he saw Sideous frying his son with lightning bolts, he knew he had to do something to redeem himself from all the years of serving the Dark Side.

The law of natural selection, he's protecting his genes from extinction. This law applies to all species (almost).

Parents love their children. And on top of that after years of loyal service he told his own son to kill him. That ain't kosher at all!
