MOST DEFINITELY, I would not give that dog the satisfaction of doing it again, to my child, or any other human being!
-
I don't think I could think of a good enough put down to say to a dog that would get the point across ;) Seriously, I think it should be a case by case basis, some owners just aren't going to pay enough attention and in those cases it's just likely to happen again, but I would hate for an accident to result in a family dog being put down when they could be put on some kind of restriction. All depends on the severity of the attack. Was it a mauling or a warning nip, and where was the owner at the time, etc
-
It would really depend on the circumstances and how 'provoked' was being defined.
-
yes I would ... but unfortunately a good percentage of dog attacks on kids are ARE provoked by the kids who are attacked
-
I would shoot the thing myself no matter why it attacked my child.
-
I would but my daughters into animal rights so I'd rather take a baseball bat to the owner who allowed it to bite her
-
Yes. And have the owner put in jail as well.
-
If an animal attacks my CHILD, you probably won't have to worry about putting it down! But, if it's just a little "nip" or something, calm and sanity might prevail. If I see blood, tho', that animal can hang it up!

Yes.

LOL put the child down..probably not... put the dog down..probably reluctantly...
-
Dogs that attack have to die. Period.
-
Yes, in fact I'd probably do it myself.
-
Probably but it would really depend on the circumstances. It's too easy just to say no provocation took place or the dog is truly a mean dog, as opposed to a one time, possible health problem. And there are so many definitions of what an attack is. I've seen some people act like one bite legally called an attack and not life threatening at all. And I've seen some attacks that weren't severe at all with no damage to either. I'm open to more understanding and lots of research on the matter.

no; i'd put it on a REALLY tight leash.
