well those are all good points but are all entirely rubbish, superman can fly at different speeds according to different sorces or times of teh day, for example; superman prefers not to fly at all on a monday morning, because who would? but on a usual day he can fly in exec of mach 10, but can also fly faster if need be up to 100x the speed of sound. and as you have probably herd he can fly through time, no he carnt the guy who played superman in that film is now dead, and he took the plot line with him. the only tim esuperman can fly faster than the speed of light is when he is wering his fathers suit, and even then it takes some time for him to get there.

well in superman movie 1, he made the earth rotate backwards to save lois lane. that should explain it, he can make the earth rotate backwards

Faster than The Flash can run. I know this because there was a issue where superman raced flash and he was restricted from flying becuase it wouldn't be a fair race.

Superman can fly faster and run faster then time and space its self. In an issue he traveled so fast that he passed all known boundaries, like space and time, so basically his speed is limitless,he can run just as fast but that can't be tested it would tair the earth apart from the vibration.

Yes, its apparent that if Superman and Flash has a race, and Flash barely beats him, then Superman can beat Flash if he flew because Superman Flies 100 times faster than he can run. Even on Smallville when Bart beats him running, Clark doesn't know how to fly yet, but if he did, he'd fly circles around him. Superman is the fastest of all superheroes, merely because he is the first hero, homage is given to him as being the fastest, the strongest, the most honorable. If he was in Marvel Universe he would still be stronger than Thor. Superman is stronger than Thor, Superman is stronger than Hulk, Superman is Faster than Flash, Superman is able to go toes to toes with Silver Surfer, if he absorbs an ultimate amount of Yellow Sun Solar Energy. Superman can defeat Galactus in that case.

According to a recent Justice League comic, he can fly faster than light speed in outer space under his own power but it does take some effort.
