  • A president must be visionary and pragmatic. A president must build coalitions and lead. A president must put aside ideology and consider all side of an issue. A good president should be fluent at least in his own language. But with a lack of humility, a lack of practical wisdom, and no compassion toward people, such a candidate will not be a successful leader.
  • I think the ability to govern without regard to political alliance would be a nice change. As far as job qualifications are concerned, there really aren't any. Seemingly any joker with the backing of enough votes. Whether they be popular, of electoral can get elected. You don't have to be a humanitarian, genius, spiritual, good at running a business. Or even popular with everyone to get elected. It remains a mystery to me. I look forward to additional answers on this one.
  • The first qualification should be that they shouldn't want the job. That's because anyone who actually wants to be president is nuts. I wouldn't take that job in a million years.
  • Prerequisites for Presidential Candidacy. 1. Political savvy As distasteful as it may be, a hopeful candidate has to be a savvy politician. That is simply the only way s/he stands a chance of gaining support for his/her agendas and bringing them to fruition. S/he may win the hearts of the American public, but without sharp political skills little would ever actually get accomplished. 2. Vision and the ability to inspire A candidate should possess a keen foresight and have a realistic and reasoned agenda. S/he should have the ability to inspire those around him/her, as well as the American public, with his/her vision. 3. A history of fair and reasoned judgement A candidate should believe in equality, fairness, and equal justice. S/he should truly care about our nation and our people and have a history that actually reflects that. 4. International relations skills A candidate should be skilled at international relations and have the ability to be honestly open-minded and respectful of other nations and their opinions. 5. Leadership and crisis management skills S/he should possess strong leadership skills, especially during periods of crisis and extreme pressure. 6. Emotional stability S/he should have to ability to control his/her emotions while still feeling strongly about issues and problems. S/he should retain the ability to step back and approach situations with a reasoned and stable emotional base. 7. Good oratory and communication skills A candidate should possess a good working knowledge of the language and have the ability to easily communicate with peoples of all levels.
