1) I suppose you are not meaning this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope-Leighey_House 2) Pope's residence (the whole Apostolic Palace): 55,000 m² This is the ground surface. As seems to have 3 to 4 levels, it could be about 160,000 m² (evaluation) Papal appartments: As they are ten big room, I suppose they would measure about 60m² in average, so about 600m² in total (rough evaluation)(there are 1,000 rooms in the 55,000 m² palace, so 55m² average/room, but there is also the Sixtine Chapel...) 2) I assumed you were meaning the Apostolic Palace. Other papal residences are the Lateran Palace and the Castel Gandolfo. "The Apostolic Palace, also called the Papal Palace or the Palace of the Vatican, is the official residence of the Pope in the Vatican City. The palace is a complex of buildings, comprising the Papal Apartment, the Catholic Church's government offices, a handful of chapels, the Vatican Museum and the Vatican library. In all, there are over 1,000 rooms with the most famous including Raphael's Rooms and the Sistine Chapel with its renowned ceiling frescoes painted by Michelangelo (restored between 1980 and 1990). The other papal residences are at the Lateran Palace, and the Castel Gandolfo outside Rome. The Vatican Palace displaced the Lateran Palace in prominence during the fifteenth century; but it was eclipsed for an extended period by the Quirinal Palace." Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostolic_Palace "The apartments include about ten large rooms including a vestibule, the library, a small studio office for the papal secretary, the pope's private study, the pope's bedroom in the corner of the building, a medical suite (which includes dental equipment and equipment for emergency surgery), the private chapel, a dining room, a small living room, and the kitchen. There is a roof garden and staff quarters for the nuns (German Benedictines) who run the Prefecture of the Pontifical Household (Papal Household). It is from the window loggia (decorated with frescos) of the study that the pope greets and blesses pilgrims to Saint Peter's Square on Sundays" Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papal_Apartments Further information: http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0600087.htm http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4539613.stm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Watykan_Plac_sw_Piora_kolumnada_Berniniego.JPG 3) "The Papal State is about 440,000 square meters (108.726 acres), of which 55,000 meters (about 13.6 acres) are occupied by the Apostolic Palace and 25,000 (6.2 acres) by about twenty courtyards and piazzas (which includes St. Peter’s Square)."
