I'm in idne!!!
-
Yes. As a Southerner it has always been in my "dictionary".
-
I'm in! Hopefully it will eliminate the use of the words "Yinz" and "Yous"! :P
-
Well, okay, I'll try it, but as a born and bred scouser, 'youse' comes more naturally. Y'all have a good day, now! (*quoth she, in a scouse accent*)
-
Count me in, since I use y'all quite a bit ;-)
-
I'm a New Yorker. Ya's. and you's is about the best you're gonna get outta me, unless I'm deliberately trying to get a bunch of rednecks attention......
-
sure.
-
PFFF. I'm in!
-
I'll join y'all on that one! I have lived in the midwest most of my life, but I'm originally from Virginia. My mom and brother were born there as well (and my dad was from Massachusetts....talk about a lot of accents flying around my house!). I still say y'all all the time. which, sounds a lot better to me than "youse" which a lot of people around here say.
-
You bet! Redundant, but we also use 'all y'all'. ;-)
-
You got my vote, sistah. I'm with all of y'all!
-
Never! I'd like to set up the counter-movement which wishes to make "yooz" the official plural form... And all yooz y'all folk will just have to put up with it!
-
yawll or youse - first we have to agree on the spelling and region from which to take the plural form of 'you'. Seriously, don't yawll agree? Come one youse guys.
-
I always think people are talking about boats when I hear that, so it would really confuse me.
-
NO FUCKiNG WAY...what a dumbass sounding word go move to the ghetto and its already in the dictionary
-
I would very much like to vote against this. It is a horrendous abomination.
-
I would. We are one of the few languages which does not have a seperate plural form of "you" and I think we need one. Y'all works as good as anything, and certainly better than "you guys" or some other options I've heard.
-
No, no, never will you get my vote for such a horrid thing. It's not a proper word, never was, never has been - lets not make it one.
-
Only as an officially accept slang word. Y'all come back now, y'hear.
-
The plural form of the singular word "you" is still "you". If this word wre to be added to any sort of dictionary, it should be shown as a contraction of the words "you" and "all". Even saying these two words in unison WITHOUT the improper contraction is redundant, as the word"you" can apply to one peron or a group of people.
-
I've heard that the plural of y'all is 'all y'all' :)
-
yes absolutely. if "ginormous" is in the dictionary (oh please) then why not y'all?
-
Although I hardly use that form, anything for you Idne.
-
I suppose this movement did not start in Yale, did it?
-
Sho nuff
-
Sure. Anything for you, beautiful. =) After all, German has two different words for "You" and "You All", so why not English?
