Is it proper to say "spayed" or "spayed-ed"? I've always used the first, but a coworker always uses the second.

If you had your dog or cat "fixed" it's spayed. If you did some shoveling in your garden, it's spaded. Your co-worker must be gardening. ;-) There is no such word as spayeded.

Well, you spay (or neuter) your dog, so if you had already done it, she's been spayed.

you can't double the past tense of spay. once you're snipped you are snipped. The answer is Spayed. Even when referring to the future condition (which will be its condition afterwards).
