"cracker" suits me fine.
-
I prefer being called by my name... thanks.
-
I'd prefer to be called Caz, but I'm not bothered.
-
I was going to say it doesn't matter and then I remembered 'white' is one syllable while 'caucasian' has three. Why stuff around? 'White' is fine. A spade is a spade and a 'manual ground excavator' is a vague term by someone with too much time on their hands.
-
It doesn't really matter to me. You can call me whatever you want, just don't call me later for supper!
-
Whitey the blue eyed devil works just fine (just kidding)
-
I prefer to be called by my name.
-
Call me anything you want, just don't call me late for dinner;-}
-
"Miss" would be nice....
-
I am not a race. Don't label me. Call me a person. Call me by my name.
-
I am white but i am more than just a skin colour.
-
I believe the politically correct term would be "pigmentally challenged".
-
"Honkey" is fine if it makes you feel good, and so is "whitey", because neither term bothers me and anything more derogatory wouldn't be true.
-
Steve
-
I like cracker. haha !!! that is what I liked to be called.
-
i believe that the notion of race is an antiquated idea that needs to be laid to rest. i've read that in human dna the greatest difference is only .012% between one "race" and another. so, we are 99.988% the same at the least. human. i guess that should be what we should call each other ;)
-
I wouldn't matter.
-
I'm not bothered.
-
Im mixed, White and American Indian. You can call me whatever you like. It doesn't change me either way. I don't get hung up on details when two words mean the same thing anyway.
-
whatever. the only thing that has ever bothered me is the few times I have been called honkey or cracker. but even that wouldn't bother me anymore (at least not much).
-
I usually check the "Other" box
-
I am offended by neither. Is black, frowned upon over Afro-American?
-
Where I come from England,I have never been called any of these above (that i know of! ha) On the forms that I have ever filled in there has never been a caucasian box to tick only white, or the usual others.
-
I prefer to be called by my name, don't you?
-
I don't care to be honest.
-
White guy, cracker, honky -- it's all good.
-
I could care less. I see myself as both.
-
White! Caucasian is like saying african american...They dont mind us calling them black...do they?
-
It never seemed to bother me much. Maybe because I don't look at whats on the outside of a person, as much as I do the Heart of a person........
-
I really really don't care. If people stopped taking offence at stupid things like this, the world would be a better place. I say take the power away from the people who try to use words to offend, just don't be offended. Call me whatever the hell you want.
-
"Hey, you!" works for me :-p
-
White, as I have never been to the Caucasus and never will.
-
white
-
It doesn't matter. I look white but have more Cherokee in me than anything.
-
human male
-
White
-
who gives a shit. call me whatever you want. just dont call me late for dinner
-
Just so long as you don't call me late for dinner..... Truthfully, sometimes color designation is useful in order to make sure someone knows who you are talking about. If I refer to someone in a small group of women as "that woman over there" you would have no clue who I was talking about. I'm going to have to use some descriptors, such as "that blonde woman over there" or "that woman in the purple paisley shirt." I don't see why it needs to be any more emotionally charged to say "that black woman over there" or "that white woman over there" unless you have malicious intent by saying it. So as long as you don't mean anything malicious, I don't care which one you call me, and I hope you'll do me the same courtesy.
-
My preference is to know what your motive is for going out of your way to label with a skin color when it is generally not needed. You can tag personalities, character, and actions with labels, but they have nothing to do with pigment endowment/lack thereof.
-
Just call me CRACKER!
-
Neither offends me.
-
I don't care. If you want to get technical like all too many people in America are crying for than you can call me a "European American". That's where my ancesters came from so in all political correctness your supposed to put the background infront of the word American. lol There's your long answer.
-
Definitely prefer 'white' over 'caucasian' but wouldnt be offended by either. Same way with 'black' or 'African American'. White and Black are just easier. Its nothing personal.
-
I wouldn't be offended if you called me Caucasian, but I am not caucasian; I am white. There is a difference between the two. Caucasian refers to people from the Caucasus region of Europe, so not all white people (even those of Western European descent) are caucasian. =)
-
Neither. I would prefer to not be generalised at all.
-
Neither term is offensive to me. I suppose it I wanted to really politically correct, I should insist on being called a European-Canadian. ;-)
-
I dnt know really, it doesnt really bother me and i dnt think it really bothers most white people. I think there is only offence because of all the hype over what you call black people or being PC 'people of colour' which i think black people find more offensive because it means that you have a problem by being uneasy around black people, which i think is very degrading in my opinion. Dnt u agree?
-
I would prefer to be called "Dave!" or "Doctor Dave!" I have no need to refer to a persons skin colour at all and so I don't use those terms myself. I am not offended by either term, back in New Zealand and Australia where I lived for many years, I was often referred to as "POM!" which means "piece of mother England!" which was often thought to be a derogatory term. But it never troubled or worried me at all, so I suppose that I'm happy with either expression. I have learned that Black people seem to like being referred to as "Black!" and not words like "Colored!" So I'm happy to carry on and use that expression.
-
I am Chanda. I am pigment challenged.
-
I don't care at all, call me either or both.
-
I could care less if you called me either one...You could even call me a cracker and i wouldnt be offended.
-
It wouldn't make any difference to me.
-
You can call me either one.
-
Doesn't matter what I am called. I would prefer to be called a woman.
-
you can call me Courtney. for that is my name, it is the name my mother and father debated back and forth for months before i was born.
-
I quite like being called white. I don’t know where this whole Caucasian thing came from but it sounds like it should be a country somewhere near Kazakhstan.
-
I have no more been to the Caucasus region than many african americans have been to africa. But I have read the Caucasian Chalk Circle!
-
Caucasian is the appropriate adjective to describe people from the Caucasus. Why it should ever have been applied to people of western European descent is a mystery to me. White is a colour that is nowhere present on my body. I am neither white nor Caucasian. I am of British (English, Scottish, and Welsh) descent.
-
by my name
-
It doesn't matter to me. They both mean the same thing. You can call me whitey the blue eyed honkey and I wouldn't care. :o)
-
I really don't care, and see no reason for offence in any of it as long as a "tag" is not added on. Like "white ______" or "Caucasian _____" I see no offence in any of it. Some people don't like to be called black, some don't like African American... Whats a person to do?
-
It doesn't matter which of these names you refer to me as. I believe that the caucasian race as a whole doesn't have a chip on their shoulder, and neither of these names imply disrespect. If I were an American citizen living in a foreign country, and I acted against the local mores, I would probably expect to be called worse.
-
I'd prefer you called me Scottish, that's what I am. As for the rest, I'm not bothered. Either's fine.
-
Either one, it don't matter to me. +5
-
I really don't care too much, you can call me white, pale, caucasian... whatever I don't really care. I don't care about the whole race thing either, we are all people.
-
There was a time in my life when I would've had a lot to say about this. But as the environment is in the toilet and there is global sickness, starvation and war, and all of us share this one vulnerable planet, what someone does or doesn't call me is of no importance to me anymore. Anyone who wants to know me will address me in a personal way, as I would them. And all the rest are just ... them.
-
You can call me "Honkey" or "White mo-fo" :D
-
Although it doesn't really matter I can tell you that I am definitely not Caucasian. My ancestors do not originate from the Caucases Mountains. I am Celtic. So I guess 'white' would be the best way to describe it.
-
Either will do, doesn't bother or offend me.
-
u can call me white, caucasian, honkie,or cracker just dont call me no damn wigger
-
I wouldn't even be offended if you called me black, Hispanic or anything else although I would correct you :)
-
Generalizing an entire race is hard, we all know that, and wholly inaccurate. However, I believe it is necessary on some level to be able to identify those of a different race. My general rule is, call me what you will as long as there's no ill will attached. Honestly, though, I'm a bit mystified by the fact that most races are called by their region of origin such as Asian or Indian or Middle Eastern so readily while "blacks" and "whites" are readily called as such. Perhaps we should just be "Africans" and "Europeans" to fit in with the mix, haha.
-
Neither one bothers me as a descriptor. As an accusation, not so good.
-
i like being called white dude ! or i say black dude the word dude helps take the sting out of it and the word cracker is just fuckin funny and honkie are you kidding that is fuckin hilarious honk honk what am i a geese?
-
I couldn't care less to be honest.
-
since you are not familiar with american slang the mexicans call us gringo's and im not sure if its good or bad but i dont have a problem with it
-
it doesn't matter to me at all.
-
My Chinese friends used to call me pink and I think it suits my just fine. I don't mind being called yellow, white or purple either but if I was called black, I would say the person was blind, wearing very dark sunglasses or just joking!:)
-
You can pretty much call me anything you like, I don't care. Just don't forget to call me for dinner.
-
I prefer "cracker". Mmm. Cracker. Om nom nom.
-
A fourth of my heritage is Georgian Russian, I'm a bit off white. Besides, I hate classifications of any type
-
both are the same to me, but if i had to chose white, i don't like the "COCK"- in Caucasian. :D
-
I be white. q:)
-
white
-
neither, I prefer "european" or "Scandinavian" since those are my two major roots.
-
I prefer to be called "American". I may be part Cherokee, but I don't consider myself either of your choices. "What is the color, when black is brown?" -Neil Young. "What is the color, when white is tan?" - Eclipse.
