When creating and publishing videos using copywritten music (Not for profit, just art for art's sake), is there any specifc way that one is required to give the artist and/or copywrite holder of the music credit so as to avoid possible legal issues?

to the best of my knowledge, how to give the artist's copywright is more or less up to them. some might want royalties, even though you are not doing it for profit, and others might be coool with just the little c and their name. get in contact with the creators before doing anything.

The word is copyright -- not copywrite. Do a Google search on "copyright fair use".

You are already acting illegally, so it does not matter if you give credit or not. It is NOT fair use to use someone else's work in your "art."
