The side pony tails popularity was merely an illusion created by Swedish space aliens (not that there's any other sort of Swede) in order to focus all of your brains energy to the side of the head where their satellite brain scanners could more easily read your thoughts about Marlon Brando and Knight Rider. The last major Side Ponytail attempt was made in the 80's led by such prominent extra terrestrial Swedes as Cindy "The Claw" Lauper who, as you can see below, has morphed into Carrie Underwood to bring the evil Brando-Knight Rider plot into the 21st century!
