  • Perhaps it was just in the landing.... However I would have to say deliberately spreading small pox to indigenous Americans.
  • The killing and slaughtering of the native Indians certainly was the first act of terrorism in America.
  • The first act of actual terrorism was perpetrated by the natives themselves on the English: The Good Friday Indian Massacre -- a surprise attack by the natives on the Virginia colonists in and around Jamestown, on Good Friday, March 22, 1622. Due to growing resentment of the colonists and their tobacco craze, the Powhatan Indians under their leader Opechancanough conspired together for the surprise attacks at sunrise that morning. About 347 people, almost 1/3 of the English, were killed that day. In the actual Jamestown fort, an Indian servant boy, Chanco, who had become fond of his English master, warned them the evening before, so those at the fort had time to defend themselves. But the many farming colonists in the surrounding area were hard hit, and the colony suffered a major setback. For more info, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamestown_massacre
