  • Uhm.. I wouldn't think so, but my mom always said (And still does) that "Milk help your teeth and bones grow to be stronger", It helps you gain muscle, and as I heard.. it helps you not bleed as much, when you have cut yourself. If you would want all those things to occur to you above, I would advise you to drink at least one and/or two glasses of milk per day. If you wouldn't have anytime to drink a glass of milk during the day (Because I know that most people are busy during the day) then, at least have a glass or two before bed.
  • Depends on where you are in the world. I have heard that in the US, miik is fortified to include vitamins and minerals that do not necessarily occur natuarally in milk. These additions may play a role in height growth. In other parts of the world, milk may not be fortified to add artificial substances.
  • Height depends on several factors including genetics. The drinking of cow’s milk will influence cell growth. Calcium and vitamin D and other nutrients can help your better overall growth but not by drinking milk to achieve it. Cow’s milk is the most overrated nutrient and actually harms children. There are several sources of Calcium far safer than cow's milk. Cow's milk is for cows not humans. Drinking milk helps cancer to grow but it's doubtful it will make you taller. Good posture, sleep habits, minimal stress and good exercise contribute to final height. Drinking milk will make cancers grow but have little to do with final height. -------------------------- IGF-1 is a "naturally-occurring" hormone found in the milk of both cows and humans. "It affects cell growth and is responsible for the quick growth of infants in both species". This is why it is biologically present in mother's milk, since it is meant to be consumed by infants. While the IGF-1 hormone already exists in humans, it is usually bound to protein and thus has less of an effect than unbound IGF-1 in milk. When human non-infants consume cow’s milk, it behaves as a cancer-accelerator. IGF-1 is not destroyed in the pasteurization process. rBGH-treated milk desensitizes you to antibiotics, increasing your cancer risk”. http://www.ejnet.org/bgh/nogood.html “In Canada and Europe the Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) was banned. rBGH - Artificial Growth Hormone Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone is a genetically engineered copy of a naturally occurring hormone produced by cows. Manufactured by “Monsanto Company”, the drug is sold to dairy farmers under the name POSILAC, though you'll also find it called BGH, rBGH, BST and rBST. When rBGH gets injected into dairy cows, milk production increases by as much as 10-15%. The use of rBGH on dairy cows was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in late 1993 and has been in use since 1994. rBGH is sold under the trade name POSILAC. http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/bgh.htm You might want to read the book: Milk - The Deadly Poison (Hardcover) by Robert Cohen

  • yes milk promotes bone growth. It has homrones that encouarge your bone growth. Look at the Japanese for example. Their general population has grown 3 inches taller since WW2 because they started drink vast quantities of milk. Go to easyheigth.com they have an article explaining it.

  • hi evry won im lora im 20 yers age im 5.1 tall wech is short for my age does any won know what can help me increse a bit of hight .please help me
  • Well ...It's helped me to get to 5'4.5" ... I don't know how tall you want to be :-) !
  • My family has always drank a lot of milk our entire lives, and we're all tall, I'm actually the shortest as 5'9".
  • Milk contains small amounts of IGF-1, but because it's consumed orally, IGF-1 is orally INACTIVE because the protein hormone is digested completely in the stomach. Similarly, the only way to affect your body with IGF-1/Growth Hormone is injecting it into your bloodstream. The rationale that rbGH and the like are bad come from the perspective of people who thinkall technology is bad -- it's not. I got this information straight from a professor at Colorado State whose interest is IGF-1. Theoretically, even if IGF-1 was not completely digested in the stomach, there are too small amounts to affect growth. How the hell will playing basketball cause one to grow taller? Spud Webb or Mugsy Bogues?

  • If you're shorter than the average cow then...no. You won't grow any taller :(
  • well it strengthens your bones so I guess so ;P
  • We were given it as children at school for this reason but it was never proven that it works.
  • It's only one of factors that might make you grow taller but there is no guarantee that it will.
  • Eating cheese does. Just look at how the Dutch have grown over the last 70 years or so.
  • So says all the ads but I guess the calf should be the tallest then or any other mammal for that matter.I think we should have a balanced diet to grow well.
  • I think so. I loved milk as a kid - was always getting into trouble for "stealing" milk - Now I am the tallest out of six brothers - 1.83m (6ft) and taller than my father/uncles etc.
  • I've never drank milk and i'm 6'4"
  • I think it's due to all the hormones cows receive! Have you noticed people seem to be getting taller?
  • Milk contains vitamin D, calcium and protein all of which you need for healthy growing. Calcium strengthens your bones, protein grows your muscles and vitamin D optimizes the release of calcium and phosphorus. Check out http://www.heightsecrets.com for a free height guide.
  • If you want to be taller just set that goal. Don’t think bad thoughts that you will forever be short just set your head into believing you’ll grow, believe me it works. The mind has not limit when used properly. Don’t try those things that stretch you out, they just pop your joints, and don’t try steroids they won’t work. l’ m 24 and i am 6’0 , my father 5’7 and mum 5’4. l was the same height as my father 8 months ago and l was always told that l would not grow over 5’7 , the height can’t be controlled , height was determined by your genetic ,inheritance etc. i was really fed up with these narrow- minded people around me and l hit the road for a solution. l have researched books , doctors and internet high and low for increasing height, and tried many growth boosters. From my experience what worked on me : 1. Eat lots of Broccoli. 2. Eat at least 250gr yougurt every day. 3. Regular Swimming helps. 4. Sleep without pillows, and sleep at least 8 hrs daily. 5. Super-Growth works http://www.super-growth.com – http://www.super-growth.org 6. Use an inversion table for 20- 30 minutes every day. Follow the tips above and you’ll grow a few inches taller regardless of your age.
  • I've never heard this. But years ago they claimed that when you had a cold an drank milk, it would cause a lot of mucus secretion. People were complaining this thickened substance, was making it harder to swallow saliva. But when the facts were finally released, they had discovered that it was due to the texture of the milk.
  • There has been an argument that cattle have been given growth hormones to stimulate growth that some people believe will affect people who drink a lot of milk. That does sound like a reasonable argumewnt and the amount of the hormones passed through the milk could be so minimal it was no detectable and that it would take years of drinking milk to make a difference. But that's exactly what a lot of people do. I don't know if it is true but the argument is not out of the question.
