  • Only the person having the dream can interpret the dream. For the most part, dreams are a way for us to sort through issues in our lives that feel unresolved to us. A psychologist or psychiatrist may be able help a person walk through a dream that's disturbing them, but that would only be necessary if the dream(s) are actually affecting that persons life.

You would have to know what the image aurora borealis meant to you at that time. You have to think about that yourself.

I don’t mean to sound like a smart ass but I’m not a dream expert. I would not know how to interpret a dream. I only know how to describe a dream. I would have thought that there is someone who knows about dreams on Answerbag and they could tell me what the dream means.

That dreams have certain meanings is a myth. If someone claims they can interpret dreams, they're a fraud or delusional. As I said, only you can know what the dream that you described.meant to you at that time. If I had a similar dream, it would mean something entirely different based on any of my own perceived situation or emotion.

Sometimes dreams can say something about us in our waking lives depending on the dream. When I had that recurring dream of aurora borealis, I did not feel any emotion at the time.
