Why did the roach not instantly die after being sprayed on a lot

Nearly half the can of hotshot spray was applied on a fat roach and it still kept on running and running. A lot of spray hit it but it wouldn't die. Now it is nowhere to be found. Did the roach survive? Can says kills instantly but almost full can used on just if roach and never got to see the body

They have become immune to the poison you are spraying on them what effect on you does spraying excessive amounts of poison in your home? Step on it. if you can. If the spray doesn't work stop buying it.
