Either Russia will set up a pro-Russia superficially democratic government in Ukraine and withdraw - at which point the sanctions will be removed - OR Russia will offer incentives to its former major trade partners, persuading those particular nations to rescind sanctions - OR Russia will manage to pass a U.N. resolution advising member nations to rescind sanctions. *** Given Putin's rhetoric, the first scenario seems unlikely (Putin has been saying that Ukraine has belonged to Russia all along and that Russia is just reclaiming territory that is rightfully theirs), but the first scenario is probably the most practical and quickest solution for Putin to gain all of the advantages he seeks in invading Ukraine while having sanctions removed.
