• They're not disabilities, they're diseases. Sometimes the symptoms can lead to a disability.
  • Because they are terminal illnesses that can be debilitating. Chemotherapy can take a toll on any cancer suffering person and render them unfit for work. HIV/AIDS can cause further illnesses and can also be spread - hence it's best such people not work.

Radiation treatments were even more debilitating! I had a burn blister covering my entire breast! This stupid punk has no clue what he's talking about. I sure hope it doesn't come back on him like carma has a tendency to do!
  • If you've never been through it then you don't know what you're talking about! And YOU are not in a position to say what is and is not a disability. And I thank God you're not because you are terribly ignorant of the whole situation! "While cancer is a disability regardless of how long it puts you out of work, only some people will qualify for disability benefits through the Social Security Administration (SSA)." *******What makes you think you have a right to judge anyone anyway?
    • Archie Bunker
I don't agree with your logic here, Linda. Just because someone might not have been through something, it doesn't mean they can't have an opinion on the subject, especially considering the fact that they're getting paid with tax dollars.
    • Linda Joy
I didn't say he couldn't have an opinion. And I paid for my disability insurance while working my ass off at more than one job for 30 years. I think you're confusing disability with Supplemental secruity income. Besides that I was talking about this person in particular. This person has no idea how debilitating these diseases are and in any case it should be determined by a doctor not an ignorant asshole with a chip on his shoulder.
  • Are you mentally retarded? Did you get a TBI or are you just full of hate and resentment? Bless your poor little heart. It must be awful to live like that!
