  • When I was a young boy I went to menstrual shows (1940's). I had never heard of predigest ideas although I know they were around. I never thought anything bad about those who wore black face, they were just part of the show telling jokes I never thought of as raciest. I wish everyone would get over making issue of things that should not be in our lives today. When the news media airs such things over and over again it only stirs up hate between people. Lets start doing things in the way the Lord God intended and quit serving Satan's hate of all others. Do love towards all others as the Lord God requires.

What about Al Jolson? He was famous for his black face portrayals in his movies as well as the songs he sang.

      Not funny about blackface

Sad, back when blackface was widely used there was never any attempt to make it racial and in all most cases was never done as a put down black people but to enjoy their lives. Most all of you today never lived in that era and put today's beliefs on it. When Al Jolson sang "Mammy" it was always praising the black mothers. This is true of all his songs.

A lot of liberals have made themselves black for a skit. Everyone thought that was funny, until a conservative said she didn't think there was anything wrong with it then she gets fired? I hope she gets every penny they owe her and she gets a better job!
  • Re Al Jolsen and Ruby Keeler "About a Quarter to Nine" A huge production number that would have been much more enjoyable without the part done in blackface. The blackface was simply out of place and to me was a distraction. Another example is one of the very rare video's of George M. Cohan dancing in blackface. Just as in "A Quarter to Nine" blackface contributed nothing to the production. In short, I think performing in blackface was/is/and will continue to be . . . dumb.

So is the disparity and inequality being practiced by liberals.
    • Archie Bunker
Tom - is performing in "white face" just as bad? How come no one cares about that?
  • What's offensive is "I'm black, GIMME GIMME GIMME"!
