My car (2013, Nissan Maxima, 1 car accident, 70,000 mi), loan is $15,028 with a $509 payment. Do I make big payments and knock out the loan in less than a year or sell to car max and pay the negative equity and be stuck with a fixer car?
We want to buy a house but this car payment makes debt to ratio to high but it's my only mode of transportation unless I use a junk car with my three kids

Only way you should make bigger payments is if you have NO DEBT....then I'd do it; then it's out of the way.........CarMax? I got my last car from there a few years ago and love it......BUT then you'd be putting up with a fixer car, which would NOT make you happy...........sooooo no debt? pay that sucker off!! have debt? most planners would tell you to pay it off first; so the final decision is up to you..........
