Electric blanket or comforter? (I know its summer but I live in Canada) :-)

Quilt would be my first choice, but I would choose comforter over electric blanket. There's just something more comforting about a comforter. ;-)

I much prefer the comforter. I do own an electric blanket, but I usually only use it to warm up the bed before I get into it (on nights when the house is REALLY cold). After I'm in bed, I usually turn it off and cuddle up under the comforter for the rest of the night.

Since my son's electric blanket burned a dinner-plate sized hole in his mattress after smoldering all night, I would opt for the comforter. Fortunately, no one died of smoke inhalation, but we well could have! I don't want anything plugged up on me while I'm sleeping!!

I like a comforter, down preferably, because I can use it all year. We live in New York and use it in summer too. It is light but warm if you need it.

Both, I have a full width fitted electric blanket and sometimes two 15 tog Duvets in the winter, only one in the summer(Most of the time)

I always used the electric for instant gratification. Then I would kick it off and the comforter would be enough.

Comforter,the electric blanket"s currents of electricity don't sound healthy to me.
