  • Well, if u left ur ps2 on for hours, the problem can be that your motherboard overheated and is dead. the same exact thing happened to my slim ps2, because i left it on for hours acidentally. you can send your system to sony, which will only charge you 85 dollars for shipping. however, i dont know what your problem is, if anything call sony. i do not know the number. hope this helps you in anyway.
  • I have de same problem. How do solve it?
  • well dont try the taking it apart and turning the clicking cog it really doesnt work ...it made it worse but normally take it apart and clean the lens .....i did it with a cotton bud lol
  • Same here!! but mine is BRAND NEW. I have everything hooked up and its all turned on. it goes to the Browser/system and the disc will not spin. ahh!
  • eather you have a dead out of box our your laser needs to be adjusted and if that dont work it was not put to gether right from the factory and sony my fix it for free. but they want you to try the others first so they can get some money out of you.
  • Hi, This just happened on my son's PS2 this morning. I couldn't hear the disc spinning up. I noticed that the spindle holding the disc looked a bit worn - I checked the inside of the lid and it was worn too. In this case, the PS2 lid was closing too tightly, stopping the disc from spinning. I've just tried gently bending the lid as if to give a slightly convex shape and it's now working fine. Hope that helps someone out there! CP
