Do you really get pinworms from biting your nails?

I heard yes but I havent had that happen to me yet

The eggs can be found in soil so if you have been gardening or may have soil under your nails then yes. However if your nails are clean, you cannot get it.

A more prominent place to be infected with pin-worms is from your pets. Allowing them on your furniture, bed, etc. or sleeping with them greatly increases the probability of having pin-worms.
