The motors for the garage doors are situated behind the opened garage door, on the ceiling of the garage. The motor is surrounded by a transmitter for the remotes, a receiver and a light. You can begin the programming for your LiftMaster remote by grabbing all of the remotes that you would like to program and entering your opened garage door.

    Beginning the Programming Sequence

To begin programming, first find the "Learn" button on your motor. The button will be located on the side of the system, just above the base of the light. You should use a ladder to press and release the "Learn" button on the motor. After pressing the button, the green indicator light will glow for 30 seconds. It is during this time that you will program your remote(s).

    Programming the Remotes

Within the 30 seconds that the indicator light is glowing on your motor, climb down from the ladder and grab your remotes. Take your first remote and press and hold the open button until the indicator light on the motor blinks and turns back on. After the blinks, you will hear two clicks from the system to indicate that the programming was successful. After the two clicks, you can then program the next remote in the same fashion, just remember to do it within 30 seconds. You will then be able to use your remotes to control your LiftMaster garage door opener.
