Smart phones allow business people unprecedented access to their clients, coworkers, and to any and all computerized resources that they utilize in the course of their work day. Most smart phones were designed specifically for business people, and as such they offer up many helpful resources.
History
The first smart phone, called the Simon, was developed by IBM in 1992. The Simon was intended for business use, and was marketed exclusively to the business market.
Types
The two most common types of smart phone are the Blackberry and the iPhone. Traditionally, the Blackberry has been more widely embraced by the business market, while the iPhone appeals to a more commercial demographic.
Function
A smart phone allows its used to access the Internet and send and receive emails in addition to the normal capabilities of a mobile phone. Smart phones also provide extras such as music technology, calendars and reminders.
Potential
Technology and mobile firms are currently looking into the potential to add more video capabilities to smart phones, allowing business people to watch movies and television on their phone from any location.
