<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Save Money on Electricity
The manufacturer says the Power Save 1200 will save up to 25 percent on a person's electric bill per month, because the device stores electricity that typically would go to waste. It also claims to save the motors of appliances and give them a longer life. The manufacturer's website has testimonials from happy customers who have realized the savings in their own households. The device costs about $300 plus shipping and handling.
On the Other: Scam on Consumers
According to the website Dan's Data, the Power Save 1200 and other similar devices, while sounding good in theory, do not work in practice. It says some commercial customers might see an improvement in their electric bills but that residential customers would not see them go down. This is echoed by users at FatWallet.com, who also did not see much improvement in their electrical bills.
Bottom Line
The Power Saver 1200 has a great concept behind it but in reality does not work well. If a device like this were actually effective, utility companies all over the world would advise consumers to install it or would have a device like this in the main power grid system. Do not believe the hype and marketing surrounding this product.
