(snip) A Cubit is a measurement from the elbow to the tip of the fingers. That would be palm flat to the forearm. For me, standing in at 6'2" tall that is 20 1/2 inches. However people were 9far, far shorter back in the day. So it could be at little as 16 inches. Hebrew bible scholars hold that a cubit is 18" long. Therefore: 300 X 18 = 5400 inches or 450 feet long 50 X 18 = 900 inches or 75 feet wide. 30 x 18 =540 inches 45 feet high

noah's ark was siad to be 300 cubits in length.50 cubits in width.,and 30 cubets in hieght. now, in Genesis 7:20 "Up to 15 cubits the waters overwhelmed them and the moutians became covered." Keep in mind that Mt. Everest(the worlds tallest mountian)is 29,029 feet tall. 29,029 divided by fifteen(cubits)is 1,935.266 feet, this is one cubit. So if we multiply Gods measurements for the Ark. It would be: Hieght about - 58,059 ft -11 miles Width about- 96,363 ft - 18.2505 miles length at a wild -580,580 ft - 110 miles Noah had to have been god to build somethig like that with in a year. that is bigger then any man made vehicle ever ,done by the hands of one man? Thinck about it!

This would make the Ark, 450 feet long, 45 feet high, and 75 feet wide. However, before the Hebrews, the cubit was a much larger figure. A Babylonian and Egyptian cubit was two feet long, and a very ancient version used to measure distance was about four feet long. Back in Noahs time (before 5,000 years ago, possibly as far back as 30,000 years), the cubit may have been even larger. The Ark could easily have been over 900 feet long and over 100 feet wide and tall.

Many use the standard 450 feet long, based upon an 18 inch cubit. The problem with that is that it is based upon assumption, and not putting the cubit into complete cultural context in Genesis. According to the previous chapters, fallen angels had lain with humans to produce giants; it is because of the lawlessness of the fallen angels/giants,ie: Nephilim, and the Nephilim corrupting humans, that the flood took place. The giants would have been the ruling caste in the world. Under this scenario, the cubit would be based upon the giant's forearm, not the human's forearm; thus we would have a much larger cubit, thus a much larger ark. There is no proof of this, but in complete context, this is the more likely scenario.
