  • I'd guess you feel this way because someone has recently surprised you when you felt "you had seen it all". There will always be an individual who comes along in our lives that challenges all of our previously held convictions about that "type" of person. This isn't a bad thing. If we do it right, we will learn until the day we die.

  • Perhaps because you've got into the habit of thinking the same way for a long time without questioning it. You've seen and learned a lot about people in your life, but having your previously held ideas questioned makes you question your own ability to judge. Think of it as a positive thing, life is a rich tapestry with many colours and patterns yet to be discovered. I think learning more about others helps you to learn more about yourself, it's win win situation.
