How many fly buttons should Levi's 501 have? I have two pairs, one with 3 small buttons, other with 4... Is it a matter of size? Are they authentic?

My "Original 501, shrink-to-fit, rigid, indigo" straight leg, button fly (yeah, I know, ya gotta be that specific when you order) size 35 x 40 have five buttons, four fly and one waist. I've also heard them called "five buttons" a million years ago when there were only straight leg and boot cut, zippers hadn't been invented yet. +3
