buy nero 7, and you'll be able to do it

magic dvd copier will do it, thats what I use and it gives the option to copy movie only, split onto two dvds or compress for a single layer dvd & copy to hard drive and sometimes I use magic dvd ripper for the avi,VCD,WMV,ipod & original mpeg,Movie only, split onto two discs and compress to a single layer dvd options.Compressing onto a 4.7 gb disc is alright if you dont mind losing some of the color and high def. Thats what happened to me anyway so I always check first to see what size it is after I tick movie only. There is all kinds of software that will let you copy complete dvd's You just have to decide wich one you will like to use. I also Use a Sure thing enabled dvd rom burner that will let you burn onto any media + or -,cdrw,dvdrw,dvdr and dvdrw plus it will burn double layer discs. It is a HP 840i ,so that i curn burn labels onto the disc after I burn the movie. It is one of the best burners I have had.I usually have to buy one every year or so.Well good luck and I hope I didnt give to much info to scare you away.

Don't buy anything; a piece of free software called 'DVD Shrink' will do exactly what you are looking for. The official site is http://www.dvdshrink.org/ but they don't provide direct downloads due to some silly legislation. Here is a direct download for it: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/dvdshrink32setup.zip

wil nero 7 help to split movie into 2?

DVD Shrink (along with DVD Decrypter for some DVD's) is a free software program that will remove anti-copying protection as well as give you options to compress the movie so it will fit on a single layer dvd.

I am not sure of what program you are using to burn your DVD but here is how you do it using DVD Architect: After setting up your dvd movie (media, scene selections etc) and are now ready to "render & burn" before the rendering process or in some cases they call it "preparing the DVD" you simply OPTIMIZE and slow down the default speed until it fits. For 8gb which is pretty large you would have to really slow it down! Your only other options are to either get dual layer dvd's if your burning program will do them or simply divide your media and make 2 dvd's.

Use DVD43 It is a small program, that removes the copyright of the disk, and then you can use any DVD copy software y want... - also CloneDVD2 ;)

Use dvd Shrink and Nero. You will get lower quality but it will play and you dont have to buy 8 gig disks and a new dvd burner.

Buy a dual layer 8.5GB blank DVD. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim (Mitsubishi Chemical), and Maxell are the most respected. http://www.verbatim.com/products/subcategory.cfm?pc_id=0F2117D0-65B0-5A0F-8FB35571D951F627&pc_parent=1DC9DF5C-C0D4-4AEC-BE4352D34D71B4EB http://www.verbatim.com/products/detail.cfm?product_id=857E4A03-65B0-5A0F-876FEDE33CCA448C&cat_id=0F28CAD2-65B0-5A0F-8813397B6B0D1E0F http://www.maxell-usa.com/index.aspx?id=2;15;290;0 You've probably never heard of them, but google Taiyo Yuden and anyone who knows their stuff will rave about them. Considered by many to be the best, but the others I mentioned are also well respected. http://www.yuden.co.jp/ut/product/cdrdvdr/index.html
