  • Don't be such a silly-goose!
  • Why do bigots ask nasty questions? Is that what comes natural to them, or do they do it on purpose?
  • There are some heterosexuals who have a feminine voice.
  • They don't ALL talk funny.. Alot of Gay people, you wouldn't be able to tell just by their voice! I think 'Camp' Is the term you're thinking of... And straight people can be camp too, although admittedly it seems more common with homosexuals... But I have no idea why?
  • Only a very small minority of gay people "talk funny". The camp culture is by no means the majority culture amongst gays. Most gays talk and look like the community around them - even more so where the level of ignorance suggested by your question is common.
  • People talk they way they do becuase thats how they were made. get over it
  • You think they talk funny because you are not gay, and vice versa. +5
  • I don't know, why are straight people unskilled in the areas of grammar and syntax? -- Gay people talk just as well as straight people. I'm not heterosexual, and I can speak English quite well. I've got a few gay friends, and you wouldn't be able to tell that they are gay by the way that they talk.
  • some gay people don't talk funny that i have noticd, and then some just do it's the wy that god made them, it's not relle a big deal, even if they do sound gay, that doesn't mean he is gay.
  • Fair question, despite the kneejerk reactions you have had to it. Obviously not all gays have affected the camp speech code that 'scene' gays (that's what they're termed in London, dunno about elsewehere), have chosen to adopt. I have had gay friends that seemed untraceably gay and spoke normally, and scene gay friends. I had an in depth chat with a very camp friend about 'the voice' and, rather than being an idiot and getting all offended that I'd noticed his speech code, he looked with me at why he and his fellows speak the way they do, what age it started and so on. It does seem to be almost subconscious for some though most agree their voices have changed since they came out, but it seemed to come down to most wanting to be very openly gay; almost advertising it for their fellow men to know what they're about. A desire to seem a little more feminine was a factor too.
  • Its a funny thing with the Gay Culture. They dress different, act different, talk different. And yet they say they arent any different. One dresses as a male, the other dresses as a female. Yet, they say, it doesnt happen. Are they blind to their own culture? They have genetic differences. A baby is Gay at birth. Come on. One can often tell a person is Gay just by their speech patterns. Or the way they hold their hands, or shift their weight, or act like they are Gay.
  • its bruised vocal cords from all the deep throating lol the big boys leave u like uv inhailed helium for weeks just kiddin listen im gay and im not offended by this question at all someone who genuinly asks a question out of curiosity should not get crap on ab and i am starting to get annoyed at some of the gay people on here that jump on their high horse when they hear something even the slightest bit controversial this question in no way says anything bad about the voice it just asks y it is so popular with some gay men anyway now that im done with y little rant i think the reason for this is the same as y ppl from the same town speak the same way its just like a scene some ppl speak with a london accent some with a gay scene accent
