Is there Platinum inside an old console TV? If so, how do you safely remove it? I heard there is Platinum in the picture tube.

No. And even if there was, platinum is not poisonous at stp. Breaking open the CRT is NOT recommended. there are other things in there that ARE poisonous. Let a professional deal with it.

If there is, the value of such platinum probably amounts to less than $5. As others have said, don't bother. If there were real value inside, you would have people going round offering money for old tubes.
