  • You can wear what you like..add some colourful accessories..
  • Good question. I'm not sure that I would, if the dress looks heavy and you have other choices. I totally understand the temptation, since the dress is short sleeved. Do you think you will feel comfortable in it? Maybe that is what should decide.
  • If it's an indoor, evening wedding and you wear some colorful accessories so you don't look like you are mourning. You will look really out of place if it's outdoors, daytime or monochromatic black. You still may be hot, this is why velvet is rarely worn in the summer.
  • You can do. However, traditionally in the west it is just as taboo to wear black as it is to wear white to a wedding and it may be seen to be in bad taste by many of the older guests or the wedding party. It would probably be best to avoid wearing black, but just because it is customary not to wear black does not mean that you should feel compelled not to. Ultimately, if the bride won't be offended by it, and if you don't mind a few raised eye brows from those who are a little more traditional in spirit, it is up to you =) As far as the velvet goes, it depends on the typical weather and temperature in August where you live.
  • good question, can you?
  • If it is an August wedding, it will be hot. I suggest you wear a sleeveless dress.
  • My suggestion would be, ask the bride! after all, it's her wedding.
  • Yes. If the groom is an ex boyfriend of yours.
