I don 't sign petitions of any kind from any source at any time. Some people were tricked into thinking they were signing petitions for various causes and in fact the signatures were used to register the people as Republicans. How many and how often that happens I have no idea. But I don't sign petitions because there are people out there who are liars who will do anything to get a signature on the dotted line. How they use those signatures is unknown. Why take a chance? :)

I'm asked to sign petitions all the time. My daddy told me never to sign anything I hadn't read first. The "volunteers" are often shocked when I drop my stuff and sit down with the paper instead of just signing or walking off. Most of the time after reading, I say "no, I really think this is a bad idea". Usually the volunteers say something like "This isn't saying you agree with it, we're just trying to get it on the ballot." If something's a bad idea, I don't want it on the ballot.

I would sign any and all petitions that supported a worthy cause
