Raiders of the Lost Ark. I wanted to see Clash of the Titans at the time and was dragged into Raiders; lucky me!
-
Days of Heaven starring Richard Gere. I am not a Gere fan (sorry to all you who are!), but I have to admit I liked this one, not just for the acting but for the visuals...they were mindbendingly beautiful.
-
Lady in the Water. After all the negative hoopla and hype, I decided to just rent it out for myself and make my own judgements about it, but I did have a slightly apprehensive attitude. I wound up absolutely loving every minute of it.

Earth Girls are Easy
-
Catwomen starring Halle Berry, I only got it because it was 4 quid in the sales. I think it might just be better than the one starring Michelle Pfeiffer.
-
A DIRTY SHAME STARRING TRACY ULMAN

Cars. I thought, Ok here is another boring animation movie but I rather enjoyed it.
-
Dude, where's my car? Stupid as all hell, but it has some funny moments!
-
Snow Dogs. I was surprised at how sweet it was. I thought it would be just a silly kids movie but I laughed and had a good time.
-
'blood in blood out' i thought it was a musical.
-
yes, there was a couple but I cant recall any names, no, there is one, No Reservations with Catherin Zeta Jones, In the beginning I thought boring but it ended up very good, nice movie to watch with G/F or wife
-
Yes. I was just thinking about this. The firs was The Manchurian Candidate. I thought it'd be a drag, but I was thoroughly enthralled. The next was Collateral. I tend to steer clear of Tom Cruise in anything, but I was happily surprised.

Its funny you should ask this question at this very moment. my wife and i just finished watching the movie White Oleaneder. Its started a little slow, but give this movie five minutes and you are hooked. Utterly fantastic movie. my wife tried to tell me, but i did not believe her, until i watched it for myself. I give this movie 5 stars.
-
Yes I have. I went to see Game Plan and I thought is was lame as hell. But, it was actually pretty funny.

Elizabethtown

dude where's my car.thought i would hate that film but laughed so much it hurt.even searched in shops until i found it and brought it.
-
The Cube trilogy. j/k Really, a late 1990s TV movie remake of Annie. My wife started watching it, and I was gonna screen talk and make fun of it. I probably enjoyed it more than her. Gotta love them 'Easy Street' dance numbers.

Million Dollar Baby

Fight Club. My 18 and 20 yr old sons wanted to see it and insisted I sit with them. I dreaded watching some violent and poorly acted movie about street gangs. Instead I was quickly involved in this unusual story and trying to figure out what was going on. I was also the one who saw the single frame shots of Tyler Durdan through out the movie. It only added to the mystery! Good flick.

Harry Potter, and The Pursuit of Happyness
-
Superbad, 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up. Very funny movies that I thought I wouldn't like.
-
King Arthur with Clive Owen and Keira Knightly. My ex and I actually had an arguement at the video store because he wanted to see it and I didn't. It turned out to be an excellent movie.
-
I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall a few weeks ago and cracked up. I usually don't like those kind of movies. I hated 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up. Superbad was funny, but I was a little tipsy at the time so that might be why.
-
Joe Dirt
-
Transformers.... I was hoping it would be good... but was sure it would be stupid.. but I loved it! This year... it will be Speed Racer. At the movies.. the preview looks like the matrix... at home on tv.. it looks like Spy kids... so Im a lil nervous.
-
The Naked Gun Trilogy.
-
Transformers and Iron Man...
-
Beavis & Butthead Do America...
-
Got to be Shawn of the Dead...I told the guy i was with at the time that it was going to be stupid and then after he dragged me to the theater i ended up liking it more then he did...go figure. Haha, i made him watch it so many times.
-
A Million to Juan. It's an older, simple, low budget type of movie but it turns out to be really enjoyable.
-
Used Cars. I didn't think that the trailers I saw were funny and I thought, "If those are the funniest moments of the movie, then I'm not interested". When I saw Fame, UC was the opening feature. UC turned out to be one of the funniest movies for me in 1980, although that honor still goes to Airplane.
-
The Truman Show I went into that thinking it would be just another dumb Jim Carrey comedy, but it turned out to be an outstanding drama. Though I still don't care for his comedies, with the exception of Bruce Almighty.
-
Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween
-
