No of course not. They only released a new edition last year because they needed to kill more trees to level. On a more serious note, the popularity of D&D (and tabletop RPG's in general) is always in flux. But there are literally millions of people who play, most of them in traditional face to face groups sitting around a table. Most, but not all, because roleplaying has gone online (like everything else) with everything from email to message boards and chatrooms used as ways to play, there are even dedicated programs for running tabletop style games online.
