  • Shipping and handling is usually the amount it costs for them to buy it from China...19.99 is pure profit.
  • Because it sounds better than twenty bucks, and the product is worth half the shipping and handling fees. It's a great way to make $20. profit off something that cost $2.50.
  • Already saw the "because it sounds better than $20" answer here. And yes, there are more sales at that price point than that "perceived" giant price leap of a penny to twenty bucks. I agree too about the S&H. Could shiop a cadillac for what they'll ship for. Ever notice if it's music CD collections .. or those coin presentations .. vs the "gizmo" sellers .. that the over prices are much higher. So? They'll often sell for a number just LIKE your $19.99 then quietly add that's "three payments of" ... rather than keep repeating the multiplied full price. Talk about using psychology!!!
  • Because Their all out to get your money! Everyone wants your money! And what about That Shipping and Handling? Just what is that?? Did you like my rant? lol
