The one study that was done, indicated that those in a hotter climate tended to reach menarche sooner. But such is not necessarily a good thing. A 6 year old has not reached menarche. I am amazed how some Muslims are so keen to defend paedophilia. Why on Earth should anyone want to have sex with a child? Perhaps such people feel inadequate or insecure in some way? It is true that child marriage has been common in most societies including our own in the past. That does not make it right. A century ago, children worked down mines, up chimneys and in factories. Child marriage is just another example of the type of Child abuse that has occurred in the past. Another thing to bear in mind are the dangers of girls getting pregnant just after puberty before they are fully grown. Most girls are not physically mature until their mid teens when their pelvis reaches adult size. If it were somehow possible for a nine year old to get pregnant, just imagine how difficult and dangerous birth could be. Just remember that in the past, we not only had very young brides but also very high rates of death among mothers in childbirth.

Is student a muslim, and if so, why do the others not share this view? Are Muslims today okay with it as long as it is in a temperate climate? To me, this is the most shocking thing that I have found out about Islam since the temporary wife thing. Kind of scary in light of global warming to. I actually have no idea if that's even true. I've heard Muslims argue it. I prefer to keep in mind the historical and cultural context. Muhammad had many enemies at the time, and if there were anything wrong with him marrying aisha (ra), then they would have been the first ones to express disgust. She was also engaged to someone else, prior to being married to Muhammad. This was all socially acceptable. I don't believe it applies to Muslims today, as certain things change with time.
