  • The church elders removed or altered those sections of the Bible not congruent with their goals of control and manipulation. One day it will be realised that the story has been twisted and we will see the truth - namely that we can all meet God / The Divine Force directly. We dont have to go through a priest, a church, follow any Church code. If the church didnt take those references out there wouldnt be a need for an institutional church

Quote: "One day it will be realised that the story has been twisted and we will see the truth" Not a wise answer. All that the Bible needs to proclaim is the information about Jesus to get a "status" on Salvation.

What you state is partly correct...false religion HAS tried to change things...but failed... the whole point of the Bible is all about the Kingdom...in the future...soon...that Jesus will rule as King...given that power by his father Jehovah... (Revelation 6:2) And I saw, and look! a white horse, and the one seated on it had a bow; and a crown was given him, and he went out conquering and to complete his conquest. " A crown was given him" By WHO? By his father, Jehovah...almighty God.
  • We? You should have been more careful when you were translating your part if you are concerned.
  • They really should - but there is no hell so they wont.
  • The current Bible is only a small portion of the scriptures. However, the church has censored it to this clinical issue. The rest of it is hidden away from us in a vault deep in the Vatican.

And WHY has the Vatican made the decision to lock away the early versions of the Bible...Could it be because it will show what the RCC is doing wrong? (Exodus 20:4, 5) ?You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be enticed to serve them, for I, Jehovah your God, am a God who requires exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me,
  • Lets compare translations... NWT....(Revelation 14:1) Then I saw, and look! the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who have his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. KJV: Revelation 14:1King James Version (KJV) 14 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. Looks the same to me...\another??? NWT...(Matthew 24:36)
  • To you, Jesus would be a "god botherer"... WE are under his orders... (Matthew 28:19, 20) Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.
  • i dont think so
  • For a good answer to this, just go to jw.org for a full explanation of all the situations in regard to translating the Bible to current modern languages... We cannot use old world language to get better understanding. For example the word ' shambles' used to mean a meat market. Now it means confusion... And I suppose a meat market [ then ] WAS a bit of a shambles.

Do you have any idea what you are saying? In many modern stores, the word "shambles" is used by a lot of meat market businesses in the US. Do a Google search, and stop posting duplicate answers to defend your Jehovah's Witness point of view. LOL
  • Every denomination picks and chooses what fits their agenda which is tithes.
    • pugwashjw65
Tithing is a man made idea...If we choose to support 'our' religion, it should be done without any pressure for it to be a certain amount...the Bible example is the widow with only the small coins...
  • No. If you pray for guidance from The Spirit most of it's fairly easy to understand. Except maybe when it comes to the symbolism.
  • Indeed, man screwed up the Bible. The most accurate version we have today is the King James Version in comparison to newer translations, and I will prove it. One of the most popular versions that are deceiving many is the New International Version. It is Satan's favorite book to use among believers. Ask yourself why (Acts 8:37) is missing from the NIV? I will tell you why. This is an antichrist agenda. Acts 8:37 "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that [Jesus Christ is the Son of God]." (KJV) 1 John 4:3 "And every spirit that confesseth not that [Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist], whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." (KJV)

As you can see, this is not a coincidence that the Bible foretold what is already in the world. Come to know the truth to know what God demands from His Creation: https://www.adventist.org/en/
  • Spiritual truths are living breathing aspects of our present reality. Any written word that exclusivizes wisdom in one book, in one religion, in one prophet of the past, will never reflect the whole truth, and will never be perpetually relevant. Life is too diverse and dynamic to then have that great life conform to a kind of tribal relativism.
  • King James not only translated the Bible but he had the stories edited from their original content, some of which changed a great deal, to conform to his preferences. It is also important to understand that all the stories in the Bible were written minimally 40 years after the death of Christ The notion that the Bible is the direct "word of God" is extremely misleading.
    • Jenny_Rizzo
What did you expect? We do not have access to the original scrolls. Use your brain. Anything that could sound suspicious in editorial bible's can always be challenged with reasoning. There is nothing wrong with that. But to claim the Bible is extremely misleading in accordance to God's Word is a misleading statement by those who are perishing. 1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
  • I see plenty of answers saying man screwed up God's words. But then Holy Spirit shows us, who know Him, the Truth.
  • Yup, starting with the King James and recently the Jive version, for afros!

  • This question to me is rather complex. First there are several methods of translating the Bible. There is the literal translation. Known too as word for word. This is the most accurate translation. The words are from the original Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek words. Dynamic is thought for thought. The last way of translating is paraphrasing. This is the least exact > It is usually one person's opinion of what the Bible says One example is the "Living Bible" To be fair there is a New Living Translation Bible. This is a thought for thought or Dynamic Interpretation Bible. The literal is most true to original but may not be that readable. The Dynamic is less accurate but still very close to the original text . However it can be very readable and therefore easy to use. I can't say we screwed up when the query doesn't take account of different styles of translations.
  • Any time something is translated from the original language into another some words are translated as the translator knows the words From what I have read the original manuscripts of Aramaic and Greek were first translated into Latin. From there into various languages. Each translation has errors some intentual and some by accident. Various commentaries state their personal opinion rather than truth. Churches also choose certain verses to state their beliefs. Most versions today are taken from flawed manuscripts (NIV being the worst). Though also with flaws the KJV is still considered the closest to the original best manuscripts..
