  • yes, my friend's friend's 2 boys
  • If by child you mean a young child, then no. I have searched for my child while he was missing, but he was 22 years old at the time. Thankfully he was found and gotten to an ER.
  • Yes and nothing but terrble thoughts go through your mine and you pray and keep praying.
  • Yes, I was a child myself.....a neighbor boy was "missing" everyone in the neighborhood was yelling his name and looking for him. Turned out his older sister left him at another neighbor's house, they never heard all the commotion.
  • Are you kidding me??? You haven't been a parent yet, have you? :-)
  • No, but I have searched for a few lost dogs. And the pain is just... inexplicable, they weren't even my dogs, they were rescue dogs at a Dog Rescue I volunteer at, but I was close to them. And if that pain is indescribable, I don't even know how awful it must be to lose your own child, your entity, part of yourself, something you love and cherish every day, something that makes you smile, and cry. And I haven't even HAD any children! But that is why I truly empathize with those parents, it must be a truly terrible and sickening feeling, as if your heart has been ripped from your chest. But then again, it makes you more determined and strong in the end. Every cloud has a silver lining, even if it is thinner than the cloud.
  • Yes - we lost my younger sister in the mall for the better part of an hour one time. I was 6 - she was 2. We never figured out how she got lost; she was there literally one second and we turned around not 30 seconds later and she was gone. Store security finally found her, calm and content as she could be. We, however, were frantic, heartsick... need I go on?
  • I have never really lost one of my children child, but when I was 9 yrs old my mom and dad accidently left me in a rest area in Kentucky on our way to Florida. I walked up to some lady and her family and told her that my family left me at the rest area, and they called the police. The police came and I got to wait in the police car and clock people as they were driving on the express way. It was about three hours later before my family came back for me.
  • Yes,mine!!....it was the longest half hour of my life!
  • Quite a few, and I'm delighted to say they were all found safe and well.
  • Not a child, but I can't even imagine what that would be like. I have searched for both a ferret, lucybell, and my dog, Sydney, and it was very, very upsetting.-- good question though
  • I lost sight of my daughter once and it is the most scariest thing ever.... Lucky nothing happened except that my heart was racing about 1000000 miles a minutes. But my grandma tells me when I was about 2 yrs old, I wandered off. Grandma thought I was with Grandpa and Grandpa thought I was with grandma. When they realized I was not around - they Freaked. I wandered to a big street where a man stopped me He was waiting for his bus. He then flagged down a police car. They took me to the Station. I think I was very lucky. Grandma eventually came to get me
  • I used to work in a toy store, so lost children were a common ever day occurance .. (all were found) :)
  • Only my inner child that was lost long ago =)
  • yeah for 5 mins then thank god he turned up
  • When I was a child I got lost. Actually I'm going to say my mom got lost! We were at the store looking at clothes when I got distracted by something (I don't remember what), when I turned back around my mom was gone! I sat on the floor looking down between the racks of clothes hoping to see her feet. It must have been 10 minutes later that she realized I wasn't following her. She went back and found me, yelling at me saying "NEVER WALK AWAY FROM ME AGAIN!" I told her "HELLO! I'M STILL HERE YOURE THE ONE THAT WALKED AWAY! YOU GOT LOST!" lol I must have been 6 or 7. It's now an inside joke whenever we go to the stores and lose eachother.
  • I lose my child all the time. I always end up finding him though. Shit. Where the hell did he go?
  • No but I think I would crazy If ever would,...
  • yes my daughter
  • Sort of....about 10 years ago a boy I went to school with and lived a few streets over from, house caught on fire. Oddly enough Chris (the boy) was no where to be found... His father told the police Chris liked to play with fire and he thought Chris probably started it on accident and ran away because he was scared. People all over including my family and I wernt looking for him, with no luck. A few days later his body showed up in a trash can thrown in a snow bank about 50 miles from his house. It turned out his father actually killed him to try and make money off Chris's life insurance... R.I.P Chris Woods
  • Yes, I have in stores (and at some crowded events) if I saw parents/guardians who were yelling the child's name out and crying. Otherwise, I keep an eye out but won't go out of my way( I usually assume it's not that serious, although, I have gone back to check and see if they found the kid).
  • I Am sorry about your brother, thats is so sad... I really cant say I know how it feels, but I can Imagine the pain you been thru for the past 25 years... much blessings.. for you and your family..
  • My little girl when she was a toddler liked to strike out on her own. She got lost in a department store and talk about panic!

  • I was looking for my son all night, until someone found him dead.
  • Yes, my little brother didn't show up for supper so we looked for days and his body was finally found. It was a drowning accident. This was over 40 years ago but I still think about him every day, and miss him.
  • Yes. My own. Happily, I found it again...
  • If by lost you mean gone from this world, then the answer is yes. We recently lost our daughter and there have been several days that I have started to ask "Where is Katie?!" One day in particular, we went grocerie shopping and I was looking for her in the sore for a few seconds before I realised that she wasn't there. That was a bad, bad day.
