Did you know see Jurassic Park? ;) jk A species to bring back? Hmm, their was a pre Historic wolf that might be interesting to bring back. It was bigger than the Grey wolf, and had a strong belief in saving pack members stronger than current wolves. Geez, I guesss I didn't follow my own Jurassic Park advice with that one.

dinosaurs - they were so kewl - but put them in a 3rd world country not here

I would want to bring back a species that would have a beneficial impact on its ecosystem. I don't know what that species is since I am far from a biologist, but that is what I would do.

Tyranosaurus Rex.... Why? It's a Tyranosaurus Rex.

Just wait a couple years and I'd say the polar bear.
-
The dodo bird so I won't feel intellectually threatened.

Homo neanderthalensis. I'd like to get a feel for his capabilities compared to ours.

Neanderthals remain one of the biggest archeological and biological mysteries.
-
Dodo. From all accounts they bred faster than rabbits, and the meat was really good...added benefit, they were harmless to us.

It would have to be a rather large species (i.e. not a frog or a fly or something like that), and it would have to be one that we are pretty certain that humanity eradicated (whether intentionally or not). Some options: *** the elephant bird *** the dodo *** the great auk *** the moa of New Zealand *** likewise Haast's eagle *** the Barbary lion *** the marsupial tiger *** the mammoth ***

Tahltan bear dog. As far as I know an extinct dog breed. There are claims there are some extremely rare specimens in Northern Canada where it originated. I know it was a small fox like dog with a tail that looked just like a fuller brush. It was smart, easy to train and friendly to people. It was last seen in the 1970s.
