Thats not true. My dad always says he hates cats, threatens to run them over etc, but he just says that cause he's a big ol' bear disguised as a macho man, and well, i've caught him talking to our cat and petting her. He had a cat named bumble bee when he was a kid too, and my gramma says he used to fall asleep with him out on the lawn. :) too cute, i make fun of him all the time!

if you want a real psychological answer...the reason that anyone would hurt a smaller animal is called sublimation. It's a defense mechanism that makes people feel like they are venting stress while feeling bigger about themselves. Typically men need to feel bigger about themselves so they are the ones to do the aggressive actions though women can and have done the same thing. I personally have 2 cats and am a man and I love my cats. They are just as much a part of my family as I am :).

I like cats. When I was a student, we had a cat in our house which I looked after so well that the other students called me "Blofeld" after the characther in the James Bond films.(I do not actually look like Blofeld though.) One of the other students hated cats as he was alergic to them and would try and kick our cat. When he was on drugs, he would try and have arguments with the cat as he did not like the way that it looked at him. The cat seemed very intelligent because one night, it went upstairs and crept into the bedroom of the man who had kicked it.The cat then urinated in his bed and left the room.There was a terrible smell in the room for weeks.(Even worse than the terrible smell before)

I have had cats, except for a few years in there, since I was about 10 years old - That's about 44 years, so far - I've had about eight cats over that time (one now), and 5 dogs (counting the four we have now). Now, my father, who always said he'd kick a cat, or worse, always played with my cats when they wanted to. (He had a pretty valid reason, as a landlord. He'd had to replace thousands of yards of carpeting, replace hundreds of feet of flooring, when getting apartments ready to rent after people who owned cats who pissed all over the place (and apparently, never cleaned it up) left or were evicted. I have never kicked a cat....I dont like them as pets because I think they stink....but, I would never kick one...why do many women always refer to men as all men??

That is a false generalisation. I know at least three men who have cats, one has four cats, and they adore them. In fact they are often telling me about how cute they are and what they have been doing. One even calls his cat his little mistress because she is so demanding and he can't resist her. I also know a couple of women who hate cats.
